Plans Overview (and how to upgrade)

What's included in each plan, pricing, and how upgrades work through Shopify billing.

StockSweep offers four plans. All core features work on every plan — paid plans add usage-based attribution billing that charges a small commission only when your discount actions generate actual sales.

Estimated time: 5–7 minutes

What you'll accomplish

  • Understand what each plan includes and how pricing works
  • Know the difference between the base monthly fee and usage charges
  • Upgrade, downgrade, or cancel safely via Shopify billing
  • Know where to see invoices, charges, and usage details

The 4 plans

Free Growth Pro Enterprise
Monthly price $0 $19 $49 $99
Commission rate 0% 2.0% 1.8% 1.5%
Monthly CAP $500 $1,000 $2,500
Free trial 14 days 14 days 14 days
Support Standard Standard Priority Dedicated

What the commission rate means

On paid plans, when a discounted item sells within 7 days of the discount being applied, a small commission is charged:

Commission = item price x quantity x commission rate

For example: you discount a product to $80. It sells 3 days later. On the Growth plan (2.0% rate), the usage charge is $80 x 1 x 2.0% = $1.60.

This charge is created via Shopify's Usage Charges API and appears on your Shopify invoice.

What the CAP means

The monthly CAP is a ceiling on usage charges for the billing period. Once your total commission charges reach the CAP:

  • Charges stop — no more usage fees for the rest of the month
  • Tracking continues — attributed sales are still recorded in your billing dashboard
  • You keep the upside — if discounts generate more revenue beyond the CAP, you pay nothing extra

The CAP resets on the 1st of each month.

What is included on ALL plans (including Free)

Every plan includes the full StockSweep feature set:

  • Dead stock detection (configurable threshold, daily auto-detection, manual trigger)
  • Dashboard with metric cards, aging buckets, trend charts, category breakdown
  • Dead stock table with filters, bulk selection, CSV export
  • One-click discount (presets and custom, preview, revert)
  • Auto-tagging and sale collection management
  • Email digests (daily/weekly) with delivery tracking
  • Discount History with performance metrics

The only difference on paid plans is usage-based attribution billing — the system tracks which discounted items sell and charges a commission. On the Free plan, attribution is not tracked and no usage charges are created.

How to upgrade

  1. Go to Settings → Billing in StockSweep
  2. You see the plan selection page with a feature comparison table
  3. Click Select on the plan you want
  4. Shopify redirects you to a billing approval page showing the monthly price and usage charge terms
  5. Click Approve in Shopify to activate the plan

The plan activates immediately after Shopify approval. If you decline, you stay on your current plan with no changes.

14-day free trial (first-time paid plans)

When you upgrade to a paid plan for the first time, you get a 14-day free trial:

  • During the trial, all features work normally
  • Attribution is tracked but no Shopify usage charges are created
  • After 14 days, the subscription begins and usage charges start

This lets you see the value of attribution tracking before paying.

How to downgrade

  1. Go to Settings → Billing
  2. Select a lower plan (e.g., Pro → Growth, or any plan → Free)
  3. A confirmation modal explains what changes:
    • If downgrading to a plan with a lower CAP: your CAP limit decreases
    • If downgrading to Free: usage-based billing stops, attribution is no longer tracked
  4. Confirm the downgrade

Timing: downgrades take effect at the next billing period. Your current plan remains active until then.

How to cancel (switch to Free)

Cancelling moves you to the Free plan:

  • All core features continue working (detection, discounting, email alerts, auto-tagging)
  • Usage-based billing stops — no more commission charges
  • Attribution tracking stops
  • The change takes effect at the next billing period

You can upgrade again at any time.

Troubleshooting (symptom-first)

"Shopify billing prompt did not appear after selecting a plan"

Likely cause: browser popup blocker prevented the Shopify redirect. Fix: disable popup blockers for your Shopify admin domain. Try selecting the plan again. How to confirm: you are redirected to a Shopify page showing the plan terms and an Approve button.

"I approved the plan but my account still shows Free"

Likely cause: Shopify billing confirmation takes a moment to propagate, or the approval was declined. Fix: refresh the StockSweep billing page. If it still shows Free, check Shopify Admin → Settings → Billing → Charges to see if the charge was approved or declined. How to confirm: the Billing page in StockSweep shows your new plan name and commission rate.

"I want to downgrade but the button is not available"

Likely cause: you may already be on the lowest paid plan, or a billing action is pending. Fix: wait for any pending billing actions to complete. You can always switch to Free as a last resort. How to confirm: the plan selection page shows your current plan highlighted and other plans are selectable.

FAQ

Who actually charges me?

Shopify handles all billing. When you approve a plan or when a usage charge is created, Shopify adds it to your Shopify invoice. StockSweep never collects payment directly.

Can I stay on Free forever?

Yes. The Free plan includes all core features with no time limit. The only things you miss are attribution tracking and usage-based billing insights (seeing which discounts generated sales and how much revenue was recovered).

When does the 14-day trial start?

The trial begins when you approve the paid plan in Shopify. It lasts exactly 14 calendar days. During the trial, attribution is tracked but no usage charges are created.

What happens if I upgrade mid-cycle?

Your new plan activates immediately. The monthly base price is prorated by Shopify for the remaining days in the billing period. Usage charges start accumulating immediately under the new plan's rate and CAP.

Can I switch directly between paid plans (e.g., Growth to Enterprise)?

Yes. Select the new plan in Settings → Billing, approve in Shopify, and the switch takes effect immediately.
