1) Detect dead stock automatically

StockSweep flags products and variants that have not sold within your chosen threshold:

  • 30 days — aggressive, best for high-velocity stores
  • 60 days — recommended baseline for most stores
  • 90 days — conservative, best for long-tail or seasonal inventory

Detection runs automatically every day at 2:00 AM. You can also trigger it manually from the dashboard at any time. On install, StockSweep imports your last 90 days of order history so results are meaningful from day one.

2) Quantify impact with frozen capital

StockSweep calculates how much money is locked in unsold inventory so you can prioritize the biggest wins first.

Frozen capital = inventory you already paid for that is not converting into sales.

The dashboard shows frozen capital as a prominent metric card with week-over-week and month-over-month trend indicators, so you always know whether your actions are working.

3) Turn insights into action (one click)

From the dead stock list you can:

  • Apply a discount in bulk — choose from presets (5%, 10%, 15%, 20%, 25%, 30%) or enter a custom percentage (up to 90%). A preview modal shows original vs. new prices before you confirm.
  • Revert a discount if you change strategy — original pricing is restored in Shopify instantly.
  • Auto-tag discounted items so your clearance/sale collection stays current automatically via Shopify Smart Collection rules.
  • Track outcomes in Discount History — see conversion rate, average days to sale, and total revenue recovered.

FAQ

Is StockSweep "discount automation"?

No. StockSweep is controlled and safe: you decide the strategy, batch size, and discount percentage. The app handles the Shopify mechanics (price updates, tagging, collection sync) and measures outcomes so you can iterate with confidence.

Does StockSweep replace Shopify analytics?

No. StockSweep is focused on dead stock discovery + action + outcomes. Shopify reports remain useful for broader store analytics. Expect minor number differences due to how each system counts sales — see Numbers don't match Shopify for details.

Do I need a paid plan to use discounts?

No. All core features — detection, discounting, email alerts, auto-tagging — work on every plan, including Free. Paid plans add usage-based attribution billing, which tracks how much revenue your discount actions recover and charges a small commission only when value is created.
